>> good morning, everybody. welcome back. i am stan stovall. >> and i'm mindy basara. thank you for joining us this morning. we will check the weather and traffic. >> one more hot day for us. over the weekend, we will drop into the 70's. that will be very refreshing. when you step out this morning, you will feel the humidity. the temperature is near 70. when the dew point is close to the actual temperature, there is a lot of water in the year. we will see a few more clouds that it yesterday. we do have better news for the weekend. earl may mess things up at the beginning of the weekend down at the beach. >> fortunately it is a long weekend for folks. >> do not change your plans. the rest of the weekend will be great at the beach. >> we are not dealing with any thing significant out there.

we're checking the speed sensors. we are not picking up any real delays. 50 miles per hour on the outer loop around the harrisburg expressway. looking good out of the northeast. 795, check in at speed sensors at 61 miles per hour approaching owings mills. so far so good on 70 approaching the beltway. this is right near 29. east and westbound traffic is looking good so far. it is still moving well. this is the east side at the key bridge, running without delay so far. that is the latest on traffic pulse 11. >> as girl moves towards the atlanta coach, hurricane watches remain in effect throughout the region. >> lowell melser arrived in ocean city yesterday. he filed this report last night.

>> it is a downright beautiful evening here in ocean city. we have a sea breeze coming off the atlantic. it is a great night to get out. that could change as hurricane earl is expected to affect this area with 50 mile per hour wind and rain. people are taking precautions. they are not going overboard. normally there would be securing rides on the boardwalk. but they are still operating at this hour and there are no plans to shut them down. folks out here should not evacuant. stay put. that is another good sign that this should not be too bad for people in ocean city. the mayor said that for folks thinking of coming down here, did not change your plans. >> it should be out of here but

late friday afternoon. i would encourage everybody to police monitor the storm and make a good decision. i do not think there will be any problems traveling. >> the biggest concern right now will be folks swimming in the ocean and rip currents. lifeguards will be keeping a close eye on what is going on out there. they may need to keep swimmers out of the water at certain times. that looks like it will be a possibility on friday. we will keep an eye on the storm. we will let you know if anything changes. right now, things are relatively quiet heading into hurricane earl. i am lowell melser, wbal-tv 11 news. >> he will be updating our live wire blog with continuing coverage from ocean city. you contract girl using our hurricane tracker.

the stores and extension. it accuses him of smoothing the way for a liquor license transfer in prince george's county and lobbying highway officials to have traffic signals installed at two company stores. his lawyer confirms he was a consultant for shoppers. "his compensation was disclosed and reported on his federal and state income taxes." the chair of public policy says it is unusual to see a paper trout in a bribery case. >> the information is pretty interesting in that usually and bribery cases there isn't any paperwork. >> prosecutors say currie failed to disclose his earnings on ethics forms. it appears as if he will continue his work in the senate. he is running for reelection

it would cost billions of dollars of damage. this is an important forecast. we think it will state just off shore. if it's just by 100 miles, there is trouble. you have earl trying to come up the coast. the cold front will push earl off the coast. if earl goes faster than the cold front, then you have a problem. right now it looks like the cold front will win. if that scenario holds, earl should be off the coast of the outer banks tomorrow morning. it will come up the coast on friday and probably windup about 200 miles offshore from ocean city on friday afternoon. it will produce a tropical storm conditions at our beaches. the winds goes out to order

miles from the eye. it will be close enough to get so to speak,suoup, at the beach. we will see heavy rain and waves that could be 15 feet high at the beach. this is it just during the day on friday. there will be little effect from the storm around baltimore. there will be a minor search of the chesapeake bay. keep that in mind if you live near the water. there could be a little bit of a push at high tide. mostly sunny with high temperatures in the low 90's. it will be humid and uncomfortable. clear tonight and turning partly cloudy. temperatures around 70. we have a chance for a shower or thunderstorm on friday from the cold front.
